"To be a better nature photographer, you must
first become a better naturalist. Only through direct contact and intimate.
Observation can we learn about the natural world and it is through direct
effort and experience that we learn to photograph that world. As a result of
efforts to record what we see and experience, I hope that a natural ethic
will develop, an ethic of respect, concem, and love for our subject matter."
